Piercing Industry Guides

About this section: The body piercing industry has no official governing body, no official certification and no official staple code to work from, making it a mine field for customers wanting to get pierced safely as, unfortunately, pretty much anyone can set up shop. These guides aim to help people understand more about their legal rights, how certain laws affect the body piercing industry and what they should watch out for when making the choice to get pierced.

British Body Piercing Law - A guide covering what body piercers have to do by law and what people only assume they have to do.

Consumer Rights - A guide to what rights you can expect when paying for a body piercing and what you can do if you are not happy with the results.

Piercing Guns - A guide to ear piercing guns and why they are considered so dangerous by the professional body piercing industry.

*More guides coming soon including: The age of consent and The UK nickel law*

If you would like to know what the law officially says about body piercing in its own words please visit the environmental health website and read the articles provided as they cover all points of the British law in regards to piercing and piercers.

Also be aware that body piercing legislation is currently under review in some English counties so some of these Laws may be set to change near you in the future!
